Teaching procedure:
Step 1  Review
 1. Greetings and ask Ss .Let Ss use Yes, I do./No, I don’t.answer。)
T: Do you have a knife?     S1: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
T: Do you have long legs?    S2: Yes, I do./No, I don’t.
T:  Do you have a round face?  S3: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.…
2. Look at the screen.Talk about Yao Ming.Use the sentences like this:
  Who’s that?  Where is he from?  What does he look like? What color...?
3.Help Ss use ESST to read the unknown words.

Step 2  Presentation
     1.Learn new words. Give the new words of Section A on the screen. Help them read out the words.Pay attention to the underlined letters.
      Then read after teacher.
      Give them three minutes to remember the new words.
      Have a dictation and check the spellings.
2.T:Do you have a friend? Could you tell me his name/age/English/phone number?
 Help Ss answer Sure....

1.Show the questions on the screen.Ask the Ss to listen to the tape-recording,then choose the right answer.

2.Show the diaouge on the screen.Let Ss read after Teacher,then practise it during different ways.After that tell Ss to recite the dialogue at once.(3 minutes)
3.Show 1c on the screen.Ask Ss to fill in the blanks.Check the answers.

1.T:Could you tell me my pen pal’s name? Now,I want to find a new pen pal in our class.
  Ask some questions and write down the information about the Ss.
  Help the Ss to find a pen pal in the class and use the sentences on the screen to write down      his/her information in the table.

2.Practise in pairs .Ask and answer the pen pal’s information. Ask one pair to make a dialogue.
3.Use the information to write a short composition .The title is My Pen Pal.(5 minutes)
4.Ask one stutent to read his/her composition.
